Culture at Caledon Public Library


Caledon Public Library is pleased to showcase art all year round! We display art exhibits free of charge at all of our branches. We celebrate photographers, painters, sculptors and graphic designers (to name only a few) of all ages - from up and coming artists who are school age to high school, to do-it-yourselfers to professionals. Writers Ink

If you're an aspiring writer or are a novelist or poet at heart, the writing group, Writers' Ink, is the group for you.  To date, Writers' Ink boasts 5 chapters!  If you've always wanted to write but didn't necessarily know how to get started, or even finish, Writers' Ink will help develop the skills and confidence you will need to pursue your writing dreams!  Writers' Ink also has a blog where members are encouraged to share their work. Do-Write Club For Kids

Do you have great stories going on inside your head and are just itching to share them? Or, do you have a good story to tell and just don't know where to start? Then this is the club for you. Join us for this weekly drop-in program where we'll brainstorm, create, write, draw and generally share all the things that inspire us! Learn More.

Writers' Ink Teen Chapter

This is a self-directed program for teens who want to write, be it poetry, prose, short stories or screenplays, gather, mingle chat and share with other teens. Learn more.

Friends of Caledon Public Library are pleased to sponsor library contests to celebrate aspiring authors, poets and photographers in our community. Click*Create*Celebrate is a compilation of all the library's contests.  They include:  Adult Short Story, Elizabeth Scavetta Memorial Teen Short Story, Children's Short Story, Adult Poetry, Young Adult Poetry, Photography (all ages) and Young Reels. Read Local Caledon

CPL's Read Local Caledon collection is designed to celebrate our community’s talented, vibrant, contemporary authors.  It is an opportunity for CPL to recognize and pay tribute to our home grown authors.  Our goal is to make works by local authors, more visible online, in the catalogue, on our shelves and to enrich our library collections.
