Story Time

Caledon Public Library offers regular story times during the fall that assist with the development of literacy skills for ages birth to 5. Each program is developed for a specific age group to encourage participation and engagement.  More information   



Do-Write and Read-a-Long Fun

This 10-week program is geared for children ages 6-10 who want to practice and hone their reading and writing skills. Each week we'll explore tips and tools that help make reading and writing f.u.n.!     Registration is limited and will be open only until the 3rd session of the program.

Children's Short Story Contest

Caledon Public Library will be accepting submissions to its Children's Short Story Contest for children ages 6 - 9 years of age between Saturday, June 16 and Saturday, December 15. The theme this year is Inspiration.  Submissions Closed

Chess for Kids

Chess for Kids is back in Alton. All skill levels welcome.

Family Literacy Day - Read, Discover & Create Together

Family Literacy Day - A Special PJ Story Time

Join us for a special story time in celebration of Family Literacy Day - a day to highlight the importance and value of reading together. There'll be delightful stories, crafts, and hot chocolate, too. PJs are strongly encouraged.

Valentine Hunt

Reading Buddies 

Reading Buddies is a program for children to spend time each week reading aloud with a trained buddy, For more information about this program, contact Leo Scardicchio at (905)-857-1400 by January 26. Number of registrants is dependent upon the number of volunteers available. Ages 6-10

Tinkercad 3D Design

Learn about the basics of 3D printing by designing a 3D object in Tinkercad. Start with basic design techniques to create anything you can imagine like a keychain or a bookmark that will be printed on the Makerbot Mini 3D printer. No experience necessary.

Becoming an Evil Genius 101

Join our class of "Evil Geniuses". Participants will learn what it takes to be a true evil genius through a series of activities designed to help you formulate the perfect evil plan. Complete the "Evil Genius" activities to graduate our class and earn your badge.

Life-Sized Mario Candyland

Create Your Own Boardgame

Participants will create a concept for a board game, design characters and tokens, a set of rules and, of course, a chance to playtest their games. Participants will have the option to design their tokens and characters using tinkercad and our 3D printer.

Drag Queen Story Time

Fay & Fluffy's Storytime is a fantastic way to celebrate literacy and diversity in a supportive and inclusive environment! Unicorns vs Zombies

The long-lasting battle between unicorns and zombies continues. Pick a team and choose your colours. Complete a series of challenges and activities to determine the winner of the unicorns vs. zombies skills competition.

Screen Print a T-Shirt

Bring a t-shirt, pillowcase or tote bag and try your hand at screen printing! Decorate the preselected designs with fabric paint and markers. While supplies last.

Bring your own shoebox and create a miniature foosball table or puppet theatre!

Super Smash Bros Wii Tournament 

Come out to an afternoon full of Super Smash Bros. All participants who arrive within the first 15 minutes of the program start time will be entered into the tournament. Space is limited! Be sure to arrive early to guarantee your spot in the tournament. Prizes will be awarded.

Some Pokemon have gone missing from the Pokelab. Detective Pikachu is on the case but he needs the help of the best poke trainers! Unravel the mystery in this real-life Clue-style game.

Kids Comic Expo 

The kids comic expo is back again with another great lineup! Create new masterpieces at the fandom factory, build in the collaborative Lego Lab and learn great comic drawing tips and tricks from the experts. Don't forget to collect your free comic book! Details to be released in April.
