Library Card

  • free to all who live, work, attend school or own property in the Town of Caledon with proof of valid name and current address
  • membership is also available without charge to those who live or own property in one of the following municipalities bordering the Town of Caledon:

 - City of Brampton

 - City of Vaughan

 - Town of East Garafraxa

 - Town of Erin

 - Town of Halton Hills

 - Town of Mono

 - Town of New Tecumseth

 - Town of Orangeville

 - Township of Adjala-Tosorontio

 - Township of King 

  • a $25 yearly non-resident fee applies to all other cards regardless of age
  • in order to register as a member of the Caledon Public Library one piece of valid personal identification displaying the applicant’s current address must be verified.
  • your card can be issued and may be used at any branch of Caledon Public Library
  • your card allows you to check out library materials or place a hold on library materials, at any branch of Caledon Public Library
  • your card gives you remote access to on-line and eResources through the library website
  • there is no age limit to becoming a member of Caledon Public Library
  • a valid Caledon Public Library card must be presented each time materials are borrowed.
  • you are responsible for all items checked out on your card
  • late fines accrue for items returned after their due date. Items must be returned (or renewed if possible) before closing time on the due date. 

Children’s Cards

The parent or guardian accepts responsibility for:

  • child’s use of all library services and materials
  • all items checked out on the child’s card
  • all fines and fees incurred on the child’s card

Children 12 years and under require a parent's or guardian's consent and identification plus the parent to obtain a library card.

The Great Read Away Fines Program for Children is a fun and easy way for kids, babies to 12 years, to use the power of reading to clear fines from their Caledon Public Library card.

Damaged, Lost and Stolen Cards:

  • there is a $3 replacement fee for lost or stolen cards
  • all lost or stolen cards and/or key tags are to be reported immediately
  • you are responsible for all items checked out on your card, or your child’s card until it is reported lost or stolen

When you get a library card you are agreeing to:

  • accept all rules and regulations of Caledon Public Library
  • pay all fines and fees incurred
  • pay for all lost or damaged materials
  • report any lost or stolen cards and/or key tags
  • advise the library of any changes in personal contact information
  • confirm personal information on an annual basis
