Teen Battle of the Books is back for its 7th annual book war! CPL has selected 8 titles to compete against each other until one book is left standing. Teens are invited to read one, some or all of the books and vote for their favourite either online or in person at any of our six branches.

The Battles

The 3 titles with the lowest votes will be eliminated by Saturday July 21st, the next 3 titles by Saturday August 4th leaving the remaining two titles to battle it out until August 25th.

Selected titles include: Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds, Warcross by Marie Lu,, The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, Children of Bone and Blood by Tomi Adeyemi, Want by Cindy Pon, The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee, Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson, The Promised Neverland Vol. 1 by Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu.

Teen Summer Reading

Calling all teens! Join us for our most spectacular summer reading challenge yet! Receive a scratch card for every two books that you read for your chance to win amazing prizes like candy, gift cards and free books.  Every card is a winner...and there's more! For every two books that you read, you'll also receive a ballot to be entered into our grand prize draw.

Volunteer Orientations Teen Volunteers

Our Teen Volunteer Program at CPL matches youth (ages 12 - 17) with a variety of engaging, age-appropriate volunteer opportunities throughout the year and at various branches. Students must attend a one time, mandatoryvolunteer orientation at the Albion Bolton Branch in order to volunteer at CPL. All participants must have a parent/guardian present for the first 30 minutes of orientation.For more information, contact Leo Scardicchio at

Elizabeth Scavetta Memorial Teen Short Story Contest

Caledon Public Library is honoured to celebrate the 13th anniversary of the Elizabeth Scavetta Memorial Teen Short Story contest.  This contest was named in memory of Elizabeth Scavetta, a promising, gifted young writer who placed first in the inaugural Caledon Public Library Teen Short Story Contest back in 2003. Short story submissions will be accepted from Saturday September 15th, 2018 - Saturday March 16th, 2019. More information coming soon! 

Tech Savvy Teens: Tinker Stations

Tech Savvy Teens is back this summer with a difference! They will now be available to demonstrate a variety of hands-on tech and maker-focussed activities at our Tinker Station sessions. Of course, they will still be able to help you with all your basic tech needs, from downloading eBooks to your eReader, to setting up an email account, to printing double-sided and more. No appointment necesary. Contact our YS Department at if you are a teen interested in volunteering with our YS team.

Sneak Peeks

Sneak Peeks offers student volunteers the opportunity to read advance copies of books not yet available at book stores or libraries and earn volunteer hours for doing so! Read an ARC (advance reading copy) and submit a short review (short, not more than 500 words) which will be posted to our Teen Read Blog.  For more information, contact
