Donations

You’d like to donate some books to us? How generous of you! Books that are donated to us either get added to our collection or are given to Friends of the Caledon Public Library to sell, which helps generate revenue for us. But before you drop off your used books, there’s a few things you should know…

We will gladly accept the following items in good condition:

  • paperbacks and hardcovers no more than 5 years old
  • DVDs, audiobooks, talking books
  • Board games in good condition, no missing pieces
  • Fully-dried, harvested seeds

We appreciate the offer, but unfortunately we cannot accept:

  • damaged items (stained, water-damaged, defaced, mildewed, a refuge for creatures of any kind or otherwise unsuitable)
  • textbooks, magazines

Kindly complete the attached form and submit it with your donation.

Unfortunately we cannot provide tax receipts for donated materials. Please ensure that large donations are boxed.

What happens to the books that aren’t sold at the Friends of Caledon Public Library Book Sale?

We’re glad you asked. Unsold books are donated to Better World Books. Read all about this for-profit social enterprise that collects and sells books online, with each sale generating funds and book donations to support libraries, literacy and education.
