The Board and Staff of the Caledon Public Library spent much of 2016 working with Lighthouse Consulting and LGA Architectural Partners in the development of a comprehensive Service/Facility Review and Master Plan. The resulting document includes a comprehensive assessment and analysis of our existing facilities, space, services, technology, staffing, and community demographics. It also provides recommendations related to the ongoing operation of, and required improvements to, our existing branches as well as detailed functional plans for any recommended new facilities. The plan also highlights the trends in library service and the evolving expectations of library users. These expectations and perceptions of residents were confirmed through several focus groups and an online survey.
Unlike a four-year strategic plan, this Master Plan will direct the Library’s efforts for many years to come. This roadmap effectively positions the Library to meet the future needs of our growing community and strengthens the Library’s capacity to become project ready as funds and partnerships become available. We’re excited by the opportunities and challenges ahead and are committed to ensuring that we are responsive to the needs of a changing Caledon.
