Brainfuse HelpNow is an all-in-one suite of tutoring services, academic support, collaborative and self-study tools for students K-12 as well as adult learners. Real-time online tutoring in support of the K-12 Canadian curriculum is available every day from 2-11 pm.

Brainfuse JobNow

Brainfuse JobNow provides live online assistance, powerful tools and other resources for job-seekers including: live interview coaching, resume development and feedback, career resources and an adult learning centre. Career coaches are available online every day from  2-11 pm. 

Canadian Citizenship Course

Canadian Citizenship Course provides practice questions based on the the official study guide Discover Canada. Learn about Canada’s history and geography, economy, symbols, justice system, governing system and the rights and responsibilities of being a Canadian. CBC Corner

CBC Corner (en français: L’espace Radio-Canada)is a digital portal that brings together the wide variety of free CBC and Radio-Canada digital content and resources into a single experience. Includes current news and events in 7 different languages, as well as audio and video for adults, kids and teens. Also includes Mauril, an English/French language learning platform.

Consumer Reports provides unbiased and evidence-based product testing, ratings, and reviews for thousands of consumer products.


CPI Q (Canadian Periodicals Index) provides over 1,300 newspapers, magazines, journals, and books, covering a wide range of subjects related to Canada in English and French.


Creativebug offers online video arts and crafts workshops and techniques. Learn how to paint, knit, crochet, sew, screen print, and more.

DIY Auto Repair

DIY Auto Repair provides accurate, authoritative, and up-to-date service and repair information for thousands of domestic and imported vehicles. It includes step-by-step repair information, diagrams, maintenance schedules, parts and labor estimates, service bulletins and recalls.


EBSCOhost provides thousands of eBooks and eAudiobooks with a wide range of subject categories for adults and children. It has an academic focus, covering classic literature, business, technology and more.

FamilySearch is a free, family history research tool that provides online access to billions of historical records.

Create an account to log in and search from anywhere, or log in to your FamilySearch account from within one of our library branches to access additional records available through affiliate libraries only. is an online database that provides free G1 practice tests that are required to obtain a G1 Ontario Driver’s License. It also includes a FAQ section.

Gale Courses

Gale Courses lets you sign up for six-week, instructor-led, online Gale courses. They are are the perfect way to learn a new skill or enhance your existing ones.

Gale in Context: Elementary

Little Pim

Little Pim is the leading language learning program for kids age 0-6, developed by Mango Languages. Access learning videos in 12 languages, a parent/teacher guide, printable lessons and fun activities. 


LOTE4Kids allows kids to enjoy the magic of over 3000+ books in LOTE (Languages Other Than English), both in library branches and at home. Books are available in over 65+ languages. Kids can also watch each LOTE title translated and narrated in English to help with reading and literacy development.

Mango Languages offers access to 70 foreign language courses and 17 English courses taught completely in the user’s native language. It is the only language learning resource to teach through film.

Merck Medical Manual is an online reference resource for consumers containing current information on medical topics, symptoms, drugs, tests and news.

National Geographic Kids

National Geographic Kids provides 200 National Geographic Kids books, full issues of National Geographic Kids magazine from 2009 to the present, and more than 500 pictures that you can freely download for educational use.

Niche Academy

Niche Academy connects you with interactive tutorials to help you get the most out of your library’s digital library resources, and provides training for social media, productivity tools, and much more.

Novelist Plus

Novelist Plus is a readers’ advisory resource that provides information about books and helps you find something to read next. It includes expert recommendations, reviews, articles, lists for both fiction and nonfiction, and audiobook recommendations and samples.

Toronto Star Historical Newspapers

The Proquest Toronto Star Historical Newspapers archive provides access to full page reproductions of the Toronto Star newspaper with retrospective coverage from 1894 – 2019. Search and discover articles, photographs, maps, advertisements, classified ads, political cartoons, birth and marriage announcements, obituaries, and more.

Tumblebook Library Premium

The Tumblebook Library Premium collection has over 1,100 titles for children grades K-6. It includes animated talking picture books, chapter books, videos, non-fiction titles and more.
