Design and edit illustrations, animation, video and more with the Adobe suite of creative tools.

3D Printing & 3D Scanning
3D printing is the process of creating 3D objects from a digital design or computer-assisted design (CAD). 3D scanning allows real-life objects to be scanned to a file which can printed on the 3D printer.

Bambu P2S 3D Printer – Coming Fall 2026 to Cory Trepanier Creativity Studio, Margaret Dunn Valleywood, and Mobile Makerspace

Ultimaker 2+ Connect (Albion Bolton Branch and MDV Collaboration Studio)

Ultimaker 3 – Allows for projects of 2 colours (CT Creativity Studio)

Shining3D Einscan Desktop 3D Scanner – Maximum size for an object: 700 × 700 × 700 mm, and the object must weigh less than 5 kg. To reserve the 3D Scanner, please book the 3D Printing Station at the CT Creativity Studio or MDV Collaboration Studio

Guidelines for 3D Printing and 3D Scanning:

3D printed projects are limited to 3 hours. In order to determine the print time, staff must review your slice settings prior to the start of printing.

The Library uses Polylactic Acid Filament (PLA) for 3D printing which is a biodegradable thermoplastic derived from cornstarch. It is sandable and paintable!

Please note:

All users must complete the Bambu certification or the Ultimaker certification before use

You may not print the following:

Weapons, or weapons parts

Sexually-explicit material

Anything that violates CPL policies

Objects that infringe upon intellectual property rights or copyright

Materials available at the Library:

The library has a variety of filament for use with the 3D printer. Users may not bring their own filament. The Library reserves the right to charge for materials.

Bernina 590e Sewing, Quilting and Embroidery Machine
Sew, quilt, or embroider digital designs all on one machine.

Equipment available at:

The Cory Trépanier (CT) Creativity Studio at the Caledon East branch

Embroider a maximum area of 15.74” x 5.9”
* Please note that quilting functions do not include long-arm quilting.

Materials available in the Makerspaces:

The library has a limited variety of thread and backing for use with machine, or makers may bring their own materials and needles if approved by staff prior to the appointment. The Library reserves the right to charge for materials at any time.

Currently available materials:

100% polyester thread in various colours

Tear-away backing

Makers may use thread and backing as required at no cost. Makers must supply their own fabric or garment to be embroidered, quilted, or sewn.

Button Maker
Our button maker has all that is needed to make buttons and includes access to the circle punch/cutter.

The cost is $0.50 per button.

Cricut® Machines & Heat Presses
Cricut® makes smart cutting machines that allow makers to create personalized projects from cards to one-of-a-kind T-shirts.

Cricut Maker® 3 – The most powerful Cricut cutting machine (all locations)

Cricut AutoPress™ – Heat Press with surface area of 15 x 12 in (38 x 30 cm) (only MDV Collaboration Studio)

Cricut EasyPress™ 2 – Heat Press with surface area of 9 x 9 in (22.5 x 22.5 cm) (CT Creativity Studio and MDV Collaboration Studio)

Cricut EasyPress Mini ™– Heat Press perfect for small or awkwardly shaped projects (all locations)

Cricut Hat Press – Heat Press with rounded plate for baseball caps, bucket hats, and other non-stretch caps (CTC Studio only)

Cricut Mug Press™ – Make custom mugs. The mug press can only be used with Cricut Infusible Ink™ and compatible mugs. Mugs must be 11 – 16 oz (350 – 470 ml); straight wall only; 82 – 86 mm diameter mugs +/- 1 mm (3.2 – 3.4 in), and poly-coated. Only available at the Margaret Dunn Valleywood Collaboration Studio and the Cory Trépanier Creativity Studio in the Caledon East Branch.

Please note that library makerspace staff must be onsite to use this equipment. To use the Cricut Mug Press™, please contact the library maker staff at least 48 hours prior to your booking to confirm if a library makerspace staff will be onsite.

The Library has a limited inventory and variety of materials for use with the Cricut® equipment, or makers may bring their own materials if approved by staff prior to the booking. Makers must supply their own base material (T-shirt, mug, glass, etc.) for vinyl transfer or heat press transfer. The Library reserves the right to charge for materials.

Direct-to-Garment Printer

Print a design directly onto light-coloured fabric such as T-shirts with the direct-to-garment printer.

The Cory Trépanier (CT) Creativity Studio at the Caledon East branch

The Roland DG VersaSTUDIO BT-12 can add a full-colour design sized up to 11.5″ x 8“ to light-coloured fabric with a minimum 50% cotton content.

Materials available in the Makerspaces:

Please bring your own garment for printing. Each print is $2 for ink.

Glowforge Laser Printer
Glowforge’s powerful desktop laser cuts, engraves, and scores hundreds of materials, including wood, leather, felt, fabric, acrylic, paper, and more.

Maximum cutting area: approx. 19.5 x 11 in

All users must complete the Glowforge certification before use

The Library does not allow personal Glowforge accounts to be linked to the Library’s Glowforge account

Materials available in the Makerspaces:

The library has a limited inventory of materials for use with the Glowforge laser, or makers may bring your own materials if approved by makerspace staff via online request, or phone (905-857-1400 ext. 218) prior to the booking. This request must be received at least 2 business days prior to the booking.

If using your own materials, you are required to complete your project only when makerspace staff are present in the makerspace. Depending on the material and project, you may be asked to book a 1:1 maker specialist appointment to complete your project.

Glowforge
Janome Embroidery Machine
The embroidery machine allows users to create a personalized pattern on a textile of your choice from a digital design.

Embroidery equipment available:

At the Margaret Dunn Valleywood (MDV) Collaboration Studio (see the Bernina machine for details on the embroidery and quilting machine at the Cory Trépanier (CT) Creativity Studio at the Caledon East branch)

The Janome Memory Craft 550E Embroidery Machine can personalize projects with a maximum embroidery field of 7.9″ x 14.2″

Materials available at the Library:

The library has a limited variety of thread and backing for use with the embroidery machine, or makers may bring their own materials and needles if approved by staff prior to the appointment. The Library reserves the right to charge for materials at any time.

Currently available materials:

Blue Tip needle for fine and medium fabric

Makers may use thread and backing as required at no cost. Makers must supply their own base material to be embroidered (T-shirt, tea towel, napkin etc.).

Large Format Printer
Print multi-size projects such as blueprints, maps, posters, etc.

Equipment available:

At the Margaret Dunn Valleywood (MDV) Collaboration Studio

HP DesignJet T650 large format ink-jet printer, maximum 36” wide

Cost to use the printer is $2.50 per foot. For example, a 36 x 48 in poster would be $10.

Guidelines for the Large Format Printer:

Please note that the large format printer does not need to be booked in advance. It is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Makerspace staff reserve the right to limit usage of the printer to 30 minutes depending on demand.

Memory Station for Analog to Digital Media Conversion
Turn old photos, film, video, and vinyl records into digital files to preserve and share.

The Memory Station is available at:

Materials required:

Please bring your own storage for digital file output. Note that video and audio files can be large in size and may require a memory stick, USB stick, or external hard drive with capacity of at least 50GB.

xTool P2S Laser Cutter
The xTool desktop laser cuts, engraves, and scores wood and acrylic materials.

Using Your Own Materials with the xTool Laser Cutter:

To use your own materials in the xTool laser cutter, please follow these two steps:
1. Request Approval – Contact the Maker team before booking your equipment time. Your request must be submitted at least 2 business days in advance. A maker specialist will review the material type, safety, and compatibility with the laser cutter.
2. Confirm Maker Specialist Availability – Before your booking, make sure a Maker Specialist will be on-site during your session. You can confirm by calling the Caledon East branch at (905) 584-1456 or contacting us online. Please complete this step each time you will be using your own materials, even if they have been approved. This step is important to ensure your safety and the best possible experience.

Depending on the material and project, you may be asked to book a 1:1 maker specialist appointment to complete your project.

xTool F1 Laser Engraver: Mobile Makerspace only
The xTool F1 is a compact, high-speed laser that engraves and cuts a variety of materials and can engrave designs on compatible metals.

As part of the CPL’s Mobile Makerspace, it will be available at participating CPL branches.
